Step 1
Contact Nedbank
Contact Nedbank-assisted Sales at NASEnquiries@nedbank.co.za or 010 217 1008 to arrange a valuation of your home to determine its current market value, based on local property trends, and to sign a mandate with Nedbank.
Step 2
Estate agent
To help you get the best price on your property, we will allocate one of our qualified estate agencies in your area to market your property for 90 days, without reference to a distressed sale.
Step 3
Home offer
When there is an offer at the price that we have agreed on, we will appoint the transfer attorneys and manage the transfer and conveyancing process on your behalf, but you will be liable for these costs. At our discretion we offer debt relief on your shortfall amount to help you with a fresh start.
Benefits of an assisted sale
- We perform a valuation of your property, without reference to a distress sale.
- You remain in control of the sale of your property.
- We allocate you a relationship agent who will provide regular feedback on the process.
- We act in the best interest of the seller and buyer by offering discounts on conveyancing and transfer fees for both the buyer and seller.
- If there is money left after your bond and all the other related costs have been paid, we will pay the money to you (the seller).
- Expenses relating to the transfer will be paid on your behalf and will form part of your acknowledgement of debt (AOD), which is payable over a period of up to 10 years.

Moratoriums
A moratorium (also known as a grace period) is when Nedbank Home Loans grants a payment holiday to Nedbank home loan accountholders for 1 to 3 months.
How does it work?
Clients are allowed to pay between 0% and 50% of their home loan instalment and thereafter have the option to settle arrears fully or in line with another arrangement. This is a temporary solution.
How can it help me?
This helps clients keep their contractual commitments after a change in their circumstances – for example unpaid maternity leave, retrenchment, retirement, medical conditions, or salary changes.
Documents you'll need
-
A signed letter of motivation setting out why we should consider giving you a payment holiday.
-
Latest 3 months' bank statements.
-
A letter from work confirming your salary cut, maternity leave, retirement, retrenchment, or medical incapacity.
Benefits of a moratorium
- Pay a reduced instalment over the moratorium period.
- Enjoy a financial break while waiting for funds to be paid out.
- Get financial relief and peace of mind during the maternity period.
- No longer receive calls from the legal and collections department.
- Possibly qualify for a restructure at the end of the moratorium.
